Don’t fall for these kinds of phrases — people use them all the time, and marketers should learn to hear the alarm bells:
- “We don’t need a strategy, just run some ads.”
- “Can you make it go viral?”
- “Let’s circle back after the holidays.”
- “My nephew is good with computers.”
Any one of those, on its own, can derail a perfectly good marketing budget. Hear more than one in the same meeting, and it’s time to slow the conversation down.
