There’s a difference between adapting to local business culture and pretending to be something you’re not. Adopting local etiquette, pacing, and communication style is good business. Faking an accent, a heritage, or a familiarity you don’t have is not — and it’s usually obvious to the people you’re trying to impress. Respect the culture. Just don’t cosplay it.
